It’s that time of year again, when everything gets a little spooky. After you take a break from stuffing your face with candy, you might want to check out the new update for Overwatch released today ushering in the return of the Halloween event. The Halloween Terror Event runs from October 10th to November 1st and feature the return of Junkenstein’s Revenge: Overwatch‘s first ever PvE Brawl.
In this special edition arcade mode you and your three teammates select from Hanzo, Mcree, Soldier 76, or Ana and fight waves of omnics which are tasked with attacking a door. This is only complicated by the arrival of Dr. Junkenstein (Junkrat) and his helpers which include Reaper, Mercy, Roadhog, and Symmetra all decked out in their limited edition Halloween skins. The storyline is extremely simple, yet engaging; Taking place on a modified version of the Eichenwalde map
“This terrifying tale follows Dr. Jamison Junkenstein, an inventor and scientist who was once employed by the Lord of Adlersbrunn.”
“Junkenstein’s dream was to create artificial life, but the Lord of Adlersbrunn mocked the scientist and his creations, calling him a fool and dismissing him from service. Slighted, Junkenstein vowed to prove the lord wrong, and when an unexpected visitor showed up and offered the key to perfecting his creation, Junkenstein’s Monster was born.”
“Now Junkenstein plans his revenge against the Lord of Adlersbrunn, and only four heroes stand in the way.”
Survive 12 waves to get a victory which lets you win Halloween Terror Loot Boxes. In these special loot boxes you will find the 50 new seasonal items including new legendary skins like Dracula Reaper, Van Helsing McCree, Throwback 80’s Zarya, and Dragon Symmetra alongside last year’s Halloween Terror Items like the infamous Junkenstein’s Monster skin for Roadhog.
For more Halloween fun, there is an “endless” alternate version of the PvE mode with added heroes: Torbjorn, Genji, Widowmaker, and Zenyatta, alongside the four original Halloween heroes. Those who survive the longest will earn a spot on the new leaderboard.
All these updates along with Halloween-themed updates to the Eichenwalde and Hollywood maps make this Halloween seem like Christmas for Overwatch fans.
