Earlier today, Activision and Treyarch revealed the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launch trailer, celebrating the impeding release of this year’s shooter.
The new trailer is a montage of a lot of content we’ve already seen, but seeing it all in one video is pretty exciting. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is the first Call of Duty title to lack a campaign mode. Instead, a battle royale mode will be taking it’s place. There were recently a few betas that ran for both the competitive multiplayer mode, as well as the battle royale mode: Blackout. Here at Electric Bento, we had really positive impressions of both.
After playing the multiplayer beta, we thought “Fast and fluid gunplay is Treyarch’s bread and butter, and I felt right at home after three years with Black Ops 3.” Even though the Blackout game mode is an all new mode for the Call of Duty roster, we thought that despite “needing some tweaking for the health of the mode, a strong focus on community feedback and balancing will keep Blackout alive.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will feature three distinct modes out of the box: Zombies, Multiplayer, and Blackout. Zombies will actually launch with three different maps: Blood of the Dead, XI, and Voyage of Despair. Voyage of Despair takes place on the Titanic, while XI is set in a Rome-like coliseum. Blood of the Dead takes place in a prison and is an expanded version of the Black Ops II zombies map Mob of the Dead. To see some extra footage of Zombies mode, Activision dropped a new trailer specifically for that mode a few days ago, which can be seen here. Check out the new trailer below, and stay tuned as we inch closer to launch at Electric Bento.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches October 12th for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC through Battle.net. Preorders are still available here.
